I’ve seen much critcism of Google Wave since it has become available and people have begun to use it. People are criticizing the usability of the interface. I could not agree more. It is confusing. It personally gives me the sensation of being in a house of mirrors or some other place where I am disoriented and not quite sure where to step next.

However, I feel these criticisms are significantly missing the point. Google Wave is a new protocol for communication. It is not an interface at all. Google created a way for all of us to begin to interact with Wave via the interface, but that is not what Google Wave is really about.

I want to challenge all those that criticize to understand this criticism is missing the point.
